Our gîte, “L’Orée du Château,” located just next to Château de Mainville, is a charming character house typical of the Aisne region, capable of welcoming up to 13 guests.
“L’Orée du Château” has been thoughtfully designed to offer your group or family (10 to 13 people) a warm and comfortable stay. Beautifully decorated, the house features a unique collection of pencil sketches, drawings, engravings, and fixés sur verre (reverse glass paintings), giving it a singular, artistic soul.
🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements
5 flexible bedrooms with 13 beds, 10 of which are twin beds (which can be pushed together as doubles or separated) to easily adapt the layout to your needs. A wooden crib for the little ones and an additional pop-up travel cot are also available.
- On the ground floor: 2 bedrooms, perfect for privacy, each featuring its own private shower and washbasin.
- On the 1st floor: 3 bright and welcoming bedrooms, ideal for adults or children.
- For the little ones: Travel light! We provide complete baby equipment (wooden crib, travel cot, high chair, and changing mat).
🧼 Bathrooms & Conveniences
- On the 1st floor: 1 independent shower room equipped with a washing machine and a clothes dryer.
- Restrooms: For everyone’s comfort, the house has 2 separate toilets (one on each floor).
🍳 Kitchen & Dining Area
Fully equipped, featuring a stone countertop, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, and a filter coffee maker for smooth mornings. The kitchen is generously stocked with dishes, glasses, and serving platters so you have everything you need for your shared meals!

An open-plan layout connecting the living room, kitchen, and dining area—ideal for sharing quality time after a day of sightseeing. For your evenings and relaxing moments, the space includes a TV, a Bluetooth speaker to stream your favorite playlists, and a piano to delight the music lovers in your group. Free Wi-Fi is, of course, available throughout the house to stay connected or plan your local excursions.

The garden surrounds the house and offers several areas to relax:
